Could the fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory have been prevented? On March 25, 1911 a tragedy happened. The Triangle Waist Factory set on fire. It was just before it was supposed close, but not everyone would be coming home that night. 146 people to be exact, because of this, it is the most infamous fires ever in America’s industry history. In a way the deaths of 146 people, mostly teenage girls, helped to make new laws and requirements for businesses to have.
