Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769 on the Mediterranean island of Corsica. Napoleon spent a couple of his years in the military, which gave him a chance of becoming a General. Napoleon was not only known for his military victories, but was also known as a hero because he defended the delegates. Napoleon was hailed throughout Paris because he was the savior of the French republic. In 1800, voting was held to approve a new constitution. For strong leadership, the people voted overwhelmingly in favor of the constitution, which gave all real power to Napoleon as first consul. Napoleon, the Emperor of France from 1799 to 1815, was a hero due to his effective reforms, fair political policies, and his great ability to win popular support. One of the reasons why Napoleon was a hero was because he helped the French economy to reform. One of the biggest reforms was the education. Napoleon set up four grades of schools; secondary, primary, technical schools, and lycees. Napoleon gave chance to all the boys to study, it didn’t matter if they were middle class or nobility.
