The U.S. constitution set America’s national government and fundamental laws, set certain rights for citizens. Before the national government made constitution laws it was very weak. It was signed on September 17, 1787 by delegates to the constitutional convention in Philadelphia, presided over by George Washington.” In the 1787 convention, delegates a plan for a stronger federal government with three branches-executive, legislative and judicial-along with a system of checks and balances to ensure no single branch would have to much power. George Washington was the first out of all, there were 5 other people that had main roles in the new constitution. Each men brought great ideas to the table to make a new nation, so every can have equal rights, Each person had one idea and they were taken and put together to make the constitution
