Scarlett woke up the next morning to the sound of quiet chatter and footsteps from the hallway outside her room. Any other person wouldn't have noticed, but because of Scarlett's ghoul hearing, some sounds were a lot louder for her.

Scarlett looked over at the clock that sat on her bedside table. It was 7:03.

'Everyone must be going to breakfast,' Scarlett thought.

Scarlett reluctantly rolled out of bed. The white- haired girl wouldn't have even bothered getting up and going into the Great Hall if she already had her schedule.

As Scarlett dressed in her Slytherin school robes, she decided she'd only stay in the Great Hall long enough for Snape to give her the schedule. Then she'd head to class. She didn't really care if she was early or

Her eyes wandered around the Great Hall as more of the Hogwarts students came for breakfast.

"Where the hell is Snape with the schedules?" Scarlett muttered bitterly.

"Eager to start learning, are we?" came a male voice. Scarlett's eyes focused on the figure in front of her. Terence Higgs stood in front of the bench across from her with a slight smirk on his face.

Scarlett gave him a small smile. "I guess you could say that."

"Mind if I sit?" Terence asked, gesturing to the bench in front of him.

Scarlett shook her head and watched as the tall seventh year sat down and almost immediately began piling food onto his plate.

"So are you enjoying Hogwarts?" Higgs asked.

"It's amazing, to be honest," Scarlett replied, her mood somewhat lifting. "I arrived here about 4 or 5 weeks before last night."

Higgs furrowed his eyebrows. "Why did you get here so early?"

Scarlett saw out of the corner of her eye that Snape was walking the length of the Slytherin table, handing out schedules.

"Um, I had to catch up to the 7th year learning standards."
