Do Students Need Dress Codes In Schools

“Don’t ever be afraid to show who you really are, because as long as you’re happy with yourself, no one else’s opinion matters” once said by an anonymous author. That quote ties perfectly together with dress codes at school. Everyone always says to “be yourself” or ”express yourself”, but how is anyone supposed to do that when most kids are at school fifty percent of the time. When people do try to express themselves some may feel judged by staff of the school. If the staff yells at the students to put on clothes that some may not like, or feel comfortable because getting yelled at is more of an emotional distraction. Being at school half of the time a lot of kids are not able to express themselves and wear what students may want, because they will get in trouble from the staff. The kids that get in trouble are mostly girls, and the staff say that what some are wearing sometimes can be distracting to the boys, but the most distracting thing is when that person get in trouble. After a kid gets in trouble everyone will be asking questions about changing clothes or how come some even got in trouble. It can also be very distracting to just that person because they will be thinking about it all day and not even pay attention in class.

Most girls talk and say that the most comfortable thing to wear is yoga pants, and they wish they could wear them at school. At school nobody is able to wear any kind of yoga pants, and if some do, a shirt that goes down to the knees has to be worn with the yoga pants, which shirts that are that long are very hard to find. Then if a dressy shirt is worn the whole outfit and hair has to look nice, it’s like girls have to look nice at school. It would just be so much nicer to wear them with just a tshirt and not get in
