The nine hours for the ITERS was completed over the time period of three days with two hours. I observed at the University of Louisville’s Early Learning Campus. On the bottom floor was the office, kitchen, laundry, and infants to two years old. On the second floor is the older children. Lastly, on the third floor, there was an open space area. There are strollers to push, bikes to ride, wagons to push, and mats to climb on. There were two long foam mats for safety purposes. On the third floor, you can also go on the roof to see the garden the Early Learning Center has planted, the kids can discover the bushes planted and the rocks on the roof. Also, to the right, there is a computer set up on a table, at the end of the bench. At the end of the cubby and computer desk, there is a closed gate to make sure the children do not get out of the classroom. Once you pass the gate, there is a blue, circle rug. There are three rocking chairs. One is for the caregiver and two are child sized for the children. There is a shelf and a basket filled with books. This area is the reading area. To the left of the entrance, past the cubby, is the dramatic play area and the fine motor skills area. To the left of the reading rug, there are two child size tables with six child size chairs at each table for eating, art, and group play. Past the eating area, there is the diaper changing table. There is a child proof gate upon entering this area. In the diaper changing area, there is a trashcan, cleaning supplies, changing table, gloves, and a cubby for each child with their diapers and wipes. To the right of the reading rug, there are several soft mats laid on the ground for children to play on. These mats are all different shapes and sizes. By the diaper changing station, there is a sensory table for the children. On the walls, there are pictures of the child and their families. On these two tables, there were also chairs at each tables. There were six chairs at each table. There were also three rocking chairs. Two were child sized and one was a teacher’s chair. While the children were eating, the teachers sat next to them in the same sized chairs. This helped conversation throughout feeding time. Each child had their own cubby for their blankets, jackets, backpacks, etc. This not only made the room more organized but gave the students a sense of property. There were also cubbies in the diaper changing area. Each cubby has the child’s name on it. The cubbies in the diaper changing area are for diapers and wipes. All of the furniture was in great
