Although the athletes that want to get better and care about sports will stay in school, paying them could get the athletes to stay in school for all four years. If we pay players, we will give them a reason to stay at their school. If we want our athletes to stay in school, we should give them a reason, such as pay them, to make them want to stay (Peebles). College athletes do not have anything holding them back from leaving college and playing professionally. If the athletes are staying longer, it helps the player because he gets to prepare himself, and it helps the university because they will make that profit off of their star player and people wanting to come watch him. Athletes could get diplomas along with having the chance to play professionally. Many parents would love to see their child get a degree and improve their draft stock before they leave college and paying them would help with this (Keolanui).
