The local government should support initiatives promoting the locavore movement because of the financial aspects that provide a symbiotic relationship between farmers and consumers and also lessen future environmental and social health risks. The locavore movement creates a mutually beneficial relationship between farmers and locals, ensuring financial stability for both parties. The locavore movement not only benefits farmers and consumers, but it also avoids the future negative impacts that may arise not only on the environment but society as a whole. As a local government, it is important to prioritize the cleanliness and preservation of the environment to avoid future potential negative consequences. The production and transportation of crops contribute to various issues that can easily be avoided by the locavore movement, as highlighted in Conversion Magazines (Source D), seeing as it reduces the need for extensive production and transportation which leads to a decrease in the use of household items and carbon emissions. This crop production can be very costly and as a city leader, it is important to consider the potential budget costs that may occur due to this excessive spending on large-scale transportation.
