Mentorship course is a part of healthcare professional progression which NMC “Quotes” and it plays the bigger role for a student to achieve their learning objective in each placement. Mentorship has 8 NMC domain outcomes to follow this means that in order to become an effective mentor, a nurse must be able to accomplish these eight domains. These domains are establishing effective working relationships, facilitation of learning, assessment and accountability, evaluation of learning, creating an environment for learning, context of practice, evidence-based practice and leadership (NMC 2008a, p.13).
Establish effective working relationships is vital to achieve good working relationships. To effectively mentor a student establishing positive mentoring relationship is very essential for both feels more comfortable with each other professionally. Student begins to apply their knowledge and practice their skills in order to achieve the required competence for registration (RCN 2006) in their placement. Placement can pose a great challenge for a student such as during a busy day and the ward or department is understaffed ( Levitt-Jones and Burgeous 2011, p. 227) Good working relationship give us several benefits and it create our work is more enjoyable.
